Math in secondary education is very linguistic. The mathematical language can hinder students at ISK in understanding math. Because they do not fully comprehend the Dutch mathematical terms and expressions, they cannot perform at their own level in this subject.
WISK is a low-threshold method that focuses on both the linguistic aspect of mathematics and the basic principles of this subject. Bright full-colour illustrations help to clarify Dutch mathematical terms for the students. This makes it easier for students to reach their own level.
WISK-X is suitable for ISK-leerroute 1 and 2. For students at ISK-leerroute 3, there is WISK-Y.
Target group
Non-native speakers between ages 12-16 at ISK-leerroute 1 and 2.
